Response to Question: In less than four years, the Bush Administration has presided over a massive increase in the federal budget deficit. The surplus is gone. America’s fiscal position has worstened dramatically due to poor economic growth and reckless tax policy. We need an economic and trade policy that will stimulate growth, benefiting both American workers and businesses. We need a fairer tax policy that does not unduly reward the richest Americans, but also helps the middle class. |

Party: Republican
Education: B.A., University of
Toledo, 1979; J.D., University of Toledo, 1983
Occupation: County Auditor for Lucas County
Training and Experience: I was raised and educated in Toledo and have a full understanding of the concerns of the constituents. I was elected to the City Council of Toledo and have been elected three times as County Auditor. Additionally I have been an attorney since 1983.
|
Response to Question: My first step would be to identify and eliminate waste and duplicate programs. As I have done in the county Auditor’s office, I would modernize systems and share systems with other branches. Working with my fellow members of Congress, we would
commit to balancing an out of control budget. By example, my office would work every day to save and reduce our spending and we would continue this practice to all federal agencies. |
